Pokemon X and Y to Feature Mega Evolutions for Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle

Pokemon X and Y will feature mega evolutions of the original three starter pokemon: Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur.

The announcement was made at Nintendo Direct earlier today. The evolutions will be allowed once the three reach their final form of Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, and the player uses the Mega Ring.

Pokemon Bank users can also use the Poke Transporter app as well, according to Polygon.

Pokemon X and Y is offering a new promotion that will allow fans to download rare shiny legendary Pokemon as well.

The Inquisitr reports the new Shiny Pokemon will look exactly like the regular models in the games except their colors will be different. They will also be playable in older versions of the game, Pokemon White version, Black version, and White version 2 and Black version 2.

"Using a fully charged DS, 3DS, or 3DS XL and a copy of the above mentioned games, stop by any GAME store, enable the wireless gift, and download away. You will need the Pokedex in-game and no more than 11 Wonder Cards as you head to the Pokemon Center where the Delivery Man will give you your free gift," the promotion reads.

The event began on Aug. 30 when they released the Shiny Dialga until Sept. 12. The next Pokemon, Shiny Palkia, will be avialble from Sept. 27 through Oct. 11, with the last, Shiny Giratina, running from Sept. 27 through Oct. 11.

X and Y will launch on Oct. 12 for the handheld 3DS and is one of the most highly anticipated Pokemon games in years.
