Poll Shows Americans Oppose Gay Marriages and Civil Unions

A new poll conducted by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute on March 25, 2004 revealed that Americans oppose gay marriage and same-sex unions yet do not support the proposal to amend the Constitution that would strictly define marriage as a monogamy between man and woman. The study also found that 63 percent of Americans opposed same-sex marriage whereas 53 percent opposed same-sex civil unions.
