Princes Harry and William Move Into Childhood Home at Kensington Palace

Princes Harry and William are returning to their childhood home and moving into Kensington Palace, sources have revealed. The boys, along with Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, will live in two separate apartments but still be within walking distance of one another; the palace was their mother's home from 1981 until her death in 1997.

Prince Harry has already unpacked and is making himself comfortable in his first official bachelor's pad, which features one bedroom, a small lounge, kitchen and bathroom. It once served as an apartment for staff, but sources told The Daily Mail he is quite happy with the arrangement.

"He has really been looking forward to getting his own place after living with his father for so long. Understandably, he wants to spread his wings," the source stated. "It's a small, one-bedroom apartment. Not what you might normally expect. But he is very happy with the arrangement."

The only other homes Harry has known are Eton and Clarence House, where he and William lived with their father, Prince Charles. Some might think that it's odd for Harry to move in with his married brother, but sources say that all three are thrilled to be so close again.

"The three of them get on brilliantly and love spending time together. Prince Harry adores his brother and says Catherine is the sister he never had. They were so enthusiastic about the idea of living together that when it emerged that this apartment was free, Harry moved his gear in as soon as he could after returning from Brazil," the source told The Daily Mail.

Harry has just returned from a trip abroad as part of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, celebrating 60 years on the throne. Prince William, meanwhile, has returned home to Kate after spending six weeks in the Falklands with his military unit.

The couple is expected to move into Kensington Palace soon. They will reside in a larger apartment until their room, which was formerly Princess Margaret's apartment, is ready.

Living at Kensington is nothing new for the boys, though, as they grew up in the palace. Princess Diana made it her home and raised the boys there until her death in 1997. They then moved into Charles' residence at Clarence House, sharing a suite of rooms. Though some have dubbed them the "heir and the spare," William and Harry have never appeared to let their respective roles get in the way of their relationship.

"Prince Harry and Prince William are a double act for the rest of their lives. They are very loyal and trust each other," a source stated. "Loyalty is key. Harry is very respectful towards William."
