Propaganda and Homosexuality No Match For Healthy Family Legacy

While driving my children to school recently I received a critical question. My 8-year old daughter asked, "Daddy do we have any gay friends?"

A critical and important question for such a time as this. Nothing in our previous conversation that morning mentioned homosexuality. I was almost blindsided. Yes, even our young children are caught in the obvious crossfire of subliminal cultural messages. Honestly, a tremendous educational opportunity (father/parent to child) arose. Fatherly, I am "the man at the city gate."

As men at the city gates... "We ward off and defend against anything that threatens and seeks to destroy our society. The men at the city gate signify stability for our communities and society. The men at the city gate observe and know everyone that belongs within and those that don't. The men at the city gate are prepared to confront those elements that threaten to destroy us and do not belong within our walls. Because the men at the city gate rise to the occasion righteously, our society finds godly peace and rest."

Attorney General Eric Holder made the following statement. "In every courthouse, in every proceeding and in every place where a member of the Department of Justice stands on behalf of the United States, they will strive to ensure that same-sex marriages receive the same privileges, protections and rights as opposite-sex marriages," Holder spoke for the Obama administration despite some 34 states who haven't approved same-sex marriage. Ignoring lawful state legislation, the federal government continues to make sweeping immoral changes.

What is our response in transferring successful family legacy from our generation to the next and beyond? Family legacy is the process of strategically transferring healthy family values to our children allowing them to live moral and productive lives. Mr. Holder's comments leave many wondering, bewildered, and hopeless about the future of our families and nation.

Sunday I walked into church desiring an appropriate heartfelt response. I visited Eastside Foursquare Church, Pastor DJ Vick (Bothell, WA). God used a close friend in a great way to remind me we are "Dangerous Together" with prayer. In prayer, we declare and remember who God is. Initially, Pastor Vick referenced Isaiah 1:18 for communion. "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the Lord, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool."

In the book's beginning the prophet Isaiah speaks from the heart of God. Even farm animals know their owner he says. As has America, Israel my son revolted and refused to acknowledge Me. Speaking to the rulers (v.10) and people, He likens them to Sodom and Gomorrah. The most documented sin of Sodom is homosexuality. A surprising similarity existed for God's people of the New Testament (Romans 1), and America in 2014. He speaks similarly to the rulers of America as with the God-rejecting declarations of Attorney General Eric Holder. Immediately prior to the request for reasoning in Isaiah 1:18 God instructs, wash yourselves, cease from evil, seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, and plead for the widow. Importantly, these touch the heart of God and render us worthy of a blessed dialog with the Creator (v.19-20).

Furthering a legacy of purity and truth
The sweeping immoral changes of the federal government oppose our successful family legacy. We are in a declared propaganda war. Undoubtedly we are fighting a war against media lies. Sadly, the lie's greatest victims (same-sex couples and supporters) hardly realize they are bamboozled. A great number of these individuals believe they have same-sex hereditary symptoms. They are victims of a well oiled media machine now fully fueled by the federal government.

Allow me to introduce you to the exact words of a book affectionately known as the homosexual manifesto. It is a book written in 1989 by Marshall Kirk & Hunter Madsen titled "After The Ball: How America will conquer its fear & hatred of Gays in the 90's."

"Please don't confuse Conversion with political Subversion. The word 'subversion' has a nasty ring, of which the American people are inordinately afraid – and on their guard against. Yet, ironically, by Conversion we actually mean something far more profoundly threatening to the American Way of Life, without which no truly sweeping social change can occur. We mean conversion of the average American's emotions, mind, and will, through a planned psychological attack, in the form of propaganda fed to the nation via the media. We mean 'subverting' the mechanism of prejudice to our own ends – using the very process that made America hate us to turn their hatred into warm regard – whether they like it or not."

Furthermore... "When you're very different, and people hate you for it, this is what you do: first you get your foot in the door, by being as similar as possible; then, and only then – when your one little difference is finally accepted – can you start dragging in your other peculiarities, one by one. You hammer in the wedge narrow end first. As the saying goes, Allow the camel's nose beneath your tent, and his whole body will soon follow."

Folks, we allowed the camel's nose into our tent (family, homes, and culture) now the whole body is being pushed in by the federal government and words of Eric Holder. The greater impact of what we now experience is a media war we must defeat. We must describe it accurately, a lie many have embraced as reality. Do not fall victim.

Defeating The Propaganda War
Fighting for our children's souls absolutely relies on truth, proactive measures, and prayer. Prayer declares and unleashes the power and might of God. We are indeed "Dangerous Together".

God, the Father of Truth, embodies its life and definition. That is why Jesus Christ came. John 18:37 says, "...For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." In God Truth is absolute (not relative). Thus the person and life of Jesus Christ.

Proactive measures require us in business or marketing terms "to be first to market". Will your children hear about the critical and decisive matters of life from you first, or the predators waiting to wow them and steal their hearts?

Guard and protect the minds of your children by insuring they understand the core foundational truths of your beliefs. Your exemplary life effectively accomplishes such a task (1 Pet 2:12). It's a living testimony to your family beliefs which they will one day possess as their own with convictions. Create an affinity within their souls as early as possible to those individuals who have held the greatest positions of power and commitment in their lives since birth; parents/caretakers. Exhibit loving and unconditional commitment to parenthood. Gain their preferences through authentic relationships. Your endearing actions experienced by them will ensure their rejection of the cunning words of predators. Therefore, our personal value systems (faith), moral absolutes, and healthy societal statistical facts must align.

In his sermon Pastor DJ Vick taught on the power of prayer when families (believers) work together. Furthermore, prayer empowers the gospel by which "ALL" might come to the saving knowledge of Christ. He centered his sermon on Acts 4, verses which signify the power of prayer. Acts 4:19-20, and 31 state " 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; 20 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard."
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

Christians, God's people, we have allowed a few to intimidate us. Let the federal government be the judge of whom we will serve as Christians. They do not possess the power of God. If so they would seek to honor Him in "every" aspect of their lives.

In answering my daughter's question I told her this. Yes, as Bambolos we have friends and even more intimate contacts who are gay (a hijacked word). They are aware of and respect our beliefs and stance against homosexuality anchored by our faith in Jesus Christ. We love and respect them as individuals but our instruction is to love them out of sin and not to remain in sin. Christ always instructed those he helped to "...go and sin no more." As a result we must do the same while striving to live sinless in every aspect of our lives. Finally, as your father, I am the "man at the city gates." My responsibility is to assess everyone I expose you to until a time which is most appropriate for your understanding. Such is your mother's and my vow before God.
