PS4 Release Date: Playstation 4 May Arrive a Full Month (Oct. 21) Before Xbox One

The PS4 may arrive a full month before the Xbox One new reports are indicating. And the move can put Sony at a distinct advantage over Microsoft.

Working on the first come first serve method, the already $100 cheaper console is trying to put the nail in the coffin for their competitors.

"Our internal product release schedule from head office dropped yesterday and on Oct 21st an unnamed Sony console will be launched. Fyi all console revisions like the ps360 slims and Wii Mini were listed as ps360 & wii mini. Previously the wiiu, 3ds and vita were also only listed as Nintendo/Sony Console in the product name column," said an inside source at a major franchise store on a post NeoGaf Forums.

Toys 'R Us originally stated on their website that Microsoft's system will launch in the U.K. on Nov. 29 with the PS4 coming on Dec. 13.

BT Games confirmed the dates after they reached out to a spokesperson from Toys 'R Us, and said they "had been given direct from our suppliers and is accurate," according to Gamezone.com.

The two gaming companies never confirmed this date with the toy franchise, and had enough to say about it to make Toys 'R Us issue an apology.

"Please accept my sincerest apologies for the incorrect information you were given yesterday regarding the Xbox One and Playstation 4 Console official release dates," the company told BT Games. "The release dates are not provided by either Microsoft or Sony, but are an estimated date and are required by our system to allow us to take pre-orders. Once the correct launch dates are officially provided we will update our web site and contact any customers who have ordered."

The only thing Microsoft has confirmed is that their console will see a November release.

Amazon initially listed the launching date of the console at Dec. 31, but admitted they feel this is just a holding date, according to The International Business Times.

Sony has indicated that PlayStation 4 will be here for the holidays with no specific date.
