Today's big match comes from New York's Arthur Ashe Stadium, and Nadal comes into this clash having defeated compatriot Tommy Robredo in the quarter-final.

Nadal has performed amazingly so far through the tournament and he defeated Robredo 6-0, 6-2, 6-2 in a merciless display of power tennis.

The Spanish player has lost just one set through the entire U.S. Open this year and has made himself the favorite to take the title.

Nadal will desperately want to take the U.S. Open this year - the 27-year-old has won this Grand Slam only once before, defeating Djokovic in 2010.

A victory for Nadal against Gasquet and a win for the World No 1 in his semi-final would see them meet again on Monday for the final.

Meanwhile, Gasquet made it to this semi-final after defeating World No. 4 David Ferrer in a five-set thriller.

Gasquet actually took a two set lead before the Spaniard made a comeback to level the game at 2 sets each. However, the 27-year-old Frenchman fought back to just get over the line and make this semifinal winning 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 2-6, 6-3.

Nadal and Gasquet have met 10 times, Nadal winning every time. The World No 8 has only ever taken three sets off the Spaniard, and he will need to be in fierce form to change that today against an on fire Nadal.
