Ray J Upsets Brandy After Releasing Controversial Song

Ray J, the R&B singer, recently released "I Hit It First," which some believed to be inspired by his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. He may have drawn the ire of his big sister and singer Brandy because of the record.

Ray J, the 32-year-old singer born Ray Norwood Jr., recently spoke about his 34-year-old sister and fellow R&B singer Brandy not being happy with his most recent release.

"Brandy's a bit upset. I haven't talked to her because I know what kinda lecture I'm gonna get," Ray J told blogger Karen Civil recently. "Brandy's a whole different kinda person. She lives in a different kinda world."

The singer went on to describe the biggest difference between he and his older sister.

"I'm way more turned up. My lifestyle is way more on the edge," Ray J explained to Karen Civil. "For her, a lot of the things I do, she might not understand. But I can say that she has my back."

Ray J appeared in an X-rated video that catapulted Kardashian's career in 2007 and recently released "I Hit It First," which left many speculating whether his ex-girlfriend was the topic of the tune. The song's hook alludes to a woman moving on to athletes- Kardashian herself has dated NFL player Reggie Bush and briefly married NBA player Kris Humphries.

"She might move on to rappers and ball players, but we all know I hit it first," Ray J sings on the record.

On one of the verses of the controversial record, Ray J speaks about cardinal compass points that left some questioning whether he is alluding to Kardashian's 35-year-old rapper boyfriend Kanye West.

However, Ray J insisted that he tried to keep the song respectful.

"Even though the song's edgy ... even though the song's intense and people think it's a little over the top, we still wanna be respectable," he told Civil.

Despite the speculation surrounding the record, Ray J recently said that his song is nothing more than entertainment on New York City radio station Hot 97.

"It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept. People going way too deep," Ray J said on Hot 97 Monday. "They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music."
