'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 7 News: Nene Leakes Will Be Back, Says Phaedra Parks Won't Be Leaving

One of the original "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast members will be back for the upcoming season of the reality show.

Nene Leakes spoke with Realitea and said that she definitely will be back for Season 7 of the show. Leakes is perhaps one of the few stars in the franchise who has made the successful leap to acting, as she was a series regular in "The New Normal" and a recurring character in "Glee."

"Every single season, somehow people think I'm not coming back. Somehow, I'm the only one who people ask, 'Is she coming back or not?' But I think that people don't understand it's not really our choice like that," Leakes explains.

"When I signed on for season 1, I signed on for a number of seasons. We're like actors, we sign for a number of seasons and they're either going to pick you up at the end of the season or drop you, unless you finish out your contract. So I have obligations, it's not like I can just walk away from something like it's just that easy, it's really not," she clarifies.

When asked about the rumors that co-star Phaedra Parks might be leaving the show as she allegedly needs some time to regroup after her husband, Apollo Nida, has been sentenced to jail for eight years, Leakes replied, "Bravo has to make the announcement. Y'all don't put your money on her not being back, how about that?"

"I like Apollo and I do really hate that this happened. I think Apollo is smart," Leakes also weighed in on Nida's situation. "And they have two little young boys … eight years is a long time … They're already going through something, he's got to be going through something and she's going through something, and now the public is all in it."
