'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date: New Trailer Dropping Next Week? Rockstar Games Hints at an Imminent Reveal

It looks like developer Rockstar Games is, after a long time, ready to break its radio silence about its highly anticipated game "Red Dead Redemption 2."

After releasing a reveal trailer for the western shooter sequel back in October last year, the Take Two Interactive-owned studio has been tight-lipped about the upcoming title save for the unveiling of a number of screenshots last May, which helped fans get by for a while.

Almost a year after the "Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer was unveiled, Rockstar Games is now teasing an announcement for next week — on Thursday, Sept. 28, to be exact.

Fans are definitely excited about it, looking at the 37,000 retweets and 87,000 likes Rockstar's cryptic Twitter post got compared to their typical day-to-day posts that only garner an average of less than 1,000 retweets and around 2,000 likes.

Fans who have been waiting for new information about the game are bound to get their wish on at exactly 11 a.m. ET although there is no word what the studio exactly has in store.

However, many believe it will be a story trailer this time. In the reveal trailer for "Red Dead Redemption 2," Rockstar focused on the open world and visual prowess the game will boast and kept the plot and the characters at the helm shrouded in mystery.

Gamers are also hoping that Rockstar will show off some gameplay footage and treat fans with a preview of the game modes to expect in the sequel and even a confirmation of the rumored PC version.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is currently slated for a spring 2018 release (pushed back from its original fall 2017 launch), but by the end of the announcement, gamers hope that they would have learned when exactly it is coming out.

There are a lot of questions gamers clamor answer for and knowing Rockstar Games, they do not count on a flood of new information this Sept. 28.

Then again, it has been almost a year since they showcased "Red Dead Redemption 2," and fans believe their patience will be rewarded generously on Thursday.
