'Revenge' Season 4 Spoilers: 'Simpsons' Voice Actor to Join, James Tupper Upgraded to Series Regular

It has been confirmed that Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa on "The Simpsons," will guest star on "Revenge" for the premiere episode of its fourth season. Smith will play Phyllis, a fellow patient at the mental institution where Victoria was admitted.

Also slated to appear in season four is Elena Satine, most known for her role in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Satine was cast in a recurring role as the "black sheep daughter" of a wealthy Southern family.

Moreover, James Tupper (the thought-to-be-dead David Clarke) has been upgraded to series regular. It can be recalled that David, who was presumed dead, turned up alive and wielding a knife in the final episode of season three. Tupper had recurring appearances throughout the "Revenge" three-year run, but his scenes have been confined to flashbacks. David's surprising reappearance sets the stage for reunions with daughter Emily and ex Victoria.

So what's in store for Emily and Victoria for Season four? Who among the equally feisty ladies will eventually end up on top?

Showrunner Sunil Nayar spoke about the two characters.

"Victoria and Emily are both going to have to reckon with what they've done in his name over the last 20 years. It's fun, because, for the first time, the audience knows what he did to Conrad, they know what a raw act of vengeance it was," he told TVLine

"So the David that's eventually going to come back to town isn't going to be the David that the people in the Hamptons know, but the viewers have seen him and know what he's capable of," adds Nayar.

"Revenge" Season 4 will premiere on Sept. 28 on ABC.
