Ricki Lake Loses 20 Pounds: Lake to Pitch 'Dancing With the Stars' Weight Loss Program?

Popular 90s talk show host Ricki Lake, 42, has announced that she has dropped 20 pounds, this coming right after her appearance on the hit ABC celebrity dance fest, “Dancing With the Stars."

The one-time chubby talk show host who became an overnight hit in her breakout performance in the John Waters film "Hairspray," has had weight fluctuations over the years.

During a rehearsal for the popular ABC dance program, Lake announced last month that she had lost three inches around her waist and three inches from her hips.

Is it possible that she became so accustomed to the workout regiment on the show that she has now become a fitness buff?

Recently, Nancy Grace, who also appeared on DWT, announced that she has also been bitten by the "reducing bug." Grace, a mother of twins, recently announced that she has lost 15 pounds, and appeared to move well in her stunning "DWTS" gowns.

According to Fitness.com:

"Dancing is a great full out mind and body workout. It can make your body and soul feel good in a way that no other exercise can. The benefits of dancing are like no other. It can help you lose weight, strengthen and tone your body, increase stamina and flexibility, improve balance and posture, and produce confidence among other things."

The website also adds: "Although dancing may appeal mostly to women, in the last number of years the most popular forms of dance have included males just as much as females. Whether it be dancing the waltz, cha cha, or rhumba-dancing be a great form of exercise for anyone."

It might only be a matter of time before "DWTS" will offer a weight loss program with Lake as pitchwoman. Lake also recently announced her engagement to Christian Evans.
