There's a reason Sadie Robertson hasn't had to publicly deal with the consequences of making impulsive decisions like many of her famous peers. She has a five-second rule.

Robertson, the 19-year-old "Duck Dynasty" star who is currently a motivational speaker and entrepreneur, shared on her YouTube channel advice that was given by her older cousin on learning to say "no" during awkward moments when dating.

Robertson was advised to pause for five seconds before making impulsive decisions in awkward moments. She decided to help prepare people by giving five examples of awkward situations that could require them to say "no."

"If somebody is drinking and they ask you to get in a car with them, say 'no,'" she said. "lf somebody asks you to drink and you don't want to drink, you can say 'no.'"

Robertson listed the third example by pointing to people who may have trouble denying their boyfriend or girlfriend in the heat of the moment.

"If a guy or your boyfriend, or if a girl and she's your girlfriend, want to go farther than you want to go in your relationship, just say 'no.' Talk to them about it," she said. "It's going to be awkward. It's an awkward conversation but it can save you from a lifetime of regret."

In another example, Robertson pointed to another awkward moment that people should probably say "yes" to.

"Say there's a person over there, they're all alone and they're crying and you feel the need to go over there and pray with them," she said. "The Holy Spirit is leading you over there, it's so awkward and you don't really know. Just go."

For some time, Robertson has been transparent about her own faith journey. In an Instagram message shared Saturday, the teen admitted that she went through some moments where she was afraid to share things with God.

"I used to hide things from God in my prayer life. I mainly did because I was afraid," she said. "I was afraid I would fail in that area again. I thought maybe I was doing me and God both a solid to just not mention it."

Now, Robertson insists she does not want to create division between herself and God, who already knows everything about her. She decided to challenge her 2.8 million Instagram followers to run toward God wholeheartedly.

"So, today if you have made a name for who God is, but never opened the book to see or asked to receive, I want to challenge you to do so. Pursue truth today, and you will find peace," she said. "Praying for all of you warriors. Run to truth."
