Santorum and Lohan, Obama and Kim Kardashian: How Politicians React to Celebs (VIDEO)

Former presidential runner Rick Santorum has been charged guilty with being a secret fan of none other than Lindsay Lohan, although he wasn't the only politician that showed up to the Correspondents' Dinner out of character.

The White House Correspondents' Dinner, which was developed to raise money and honor a select few in journalism, appears to also be a great time for politicians to meet their favorite celebrities and mingle with the likes of them.

The dinner is held annually and presents highly esteemed journalists with awards while earning money for scholarships in the journalism field. The most recent dinner was celebrated on Saturday.

Not having much use for politics as of late, former Republican candidate Rick Santorum strolled around the party collecting pictures instead. The presidential drop out managed to collect a picture of himself with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren, before making a much-surprised request.

Celebrities often attend the Correspondents' dinner and Saturday was no exception. The guest list included the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, who served as the night's entertainment, Kim Kardashian, and even the recovering Lindsay Lohan.

After snapping his photo with Susteren, Santorum apparently wasn't shy about asking Lindsay Lohan for a solo snap shot, although he was shy about admitting to it afterwards.

When asked whether he had snapped a shot of the famed celebrity, Santorum appeared visibly uncomfortable.

"I took a picture of a lot of people today," the former senator muttered. When pushed on the subject and asked why Lohan, it wasn't all too clear what Santorum's response was in between the jumble of words that ensued.

Of course Santorum wasn't the only politician out of character for the night. The President himself even questioned his attendance at such an event.

"What am I doing here?" Obama questioned on stage. "I'm opening for Jimmy Kimmel and telling knock-knock jokes to Kim Kardashian."

The President also poked fun at recent picture released of his secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, that showed her drinking during her trip to the Summit of the Americas in Colombia.

"She can't stop drunk texting me from Cartagena," Obama teased.
