Selena Gomez Birthday Party: Justin Bieber Not in Attendance

On July 22, Selena Gomez turned 21 years old. Her birthday party was an intimate affair attended by friends and family, yet ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber was not present.

The "Come and Get It" singer held her birthday party at Bagatellel, a French Bistro in West Hollywood.

Gomez appears to have had a good time, as she shared that sentiment on the social media site Instagram.

"Thank you to bagatellela for an amazing bday!!! It's a birthday WEEK!" she wrote.

Gomez's mother attended the party along with 20 friends, ABC News reported. The guests included friend and actress Francia Raisa and Gomez's "Spring Breakers" cast mate Ashley Benson, but Justin Bieber did not make an appearance.

The party seems to be in line with exactly what Gomez wanted for her 21st birthday. Months before her birthday, the singer and actress told MuchMusic what she wanted to do for her party.

"Obviously in America 21 is the age, so I'm gonna actually have a really big party. I wanna have a great party - I'm gonna invite my friends and my family, and I'm definitely gonna celebrate," Gomez told MuchMusic, according to Hollywood Life.

Party guest Francia Raisa wrote Gomez a touching birthday message.

"Met you when you were 15 and u became family to me when you were 16. Since then you have changed my life and I've become a better person. I love you and am beyond grateful to be a part your life cuz girl… we in our 20′s. #happybirthdayselena #turnup! #jazzitup #letmeintroduceyoutomyfriendjosecuervoFollow," Raisa wrote.

After the party, guest Ashley Benson posted pictures of the celebration on Twitter and added a birthday message of her own.

"Happy birthday sweet girl @selenagomez," Benson wrote.
