Selena Gomez 'X-Factor' Performance Blows Away Fans

Selena Gomez appeared on "The X-Factor" to debut her new single "Slow Down" on Thursday night, wowing fans everywhere.

The reality singing series was supposed to feature a performance by the 21-year-old pop star, but fans are saying it was worth the wait.

During Thursday's episode, Gomez took the stage in an all-black ensemble including a fringe skirt and a long-sleeves bedazzled top where she danced alongside "X-Factor" dancers and performed her new single.

After the show, Gomez took to Instagram with a photo from her reunion with childhood friend and "X-Factor" judge Demi Lovato.

"Its just the evidence of forever. No matter what @ddlovato," the singer wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile, Gomez's performance on "X-Factor" makes it hard to believe that the singer is "not sexy enough," a criticism Gomez admitted she hears on a regular basis.

"The kids trust me, the parents trust me, and I just have to say: Thank you," the singer told the audience at her Stars Dance show last month, according to the Huffington Post. "Because I hear you guys. I hear what you're telling me … The stories that you guys go through, and I have to say that I know exactly what you feel. Sometimes is it so hard."

Gomez went on to say that she is criticized on a daily basis for her appearance, and imparted wise advice.

"But I have to tell you," she continued. "I get it all day, every day that I'm not sexy enough, or I'm not cool enough, or if I did this I would be accepted. Let me tell you one thing: the sexiest thing … is class. I promise you that each and every one of you is made to be who you are. That is what's so attractive and beautiful. Please don't forget that, even when it gets hard."
