Shailene Woodley and Theo James Quash Rumors, Focus on 'Insurgent' Filming

Amidst persistent dating rumors that hound Shailene Woodley and Theo James, the "Divergent" stars have repeatedly stated that they are just good friends and that they enjoy working with each other. James and his girlfriend of three years, Ruth Kearney, have been hounded by breakup rumors ever since James and Woodley started making the rounds promoting the dystopian thriller.

Fans observed the palpable chemistry between the two as they openly complimented each other's appearance during interviews and revealed personal observations about each other's habits. However, the pair staunchly denied that they are dating, even though rumors started sparking again when the duo was spotted at Comic-con.

Woodley and James were at the San Diego convention last week to talk about the upcoming sequel to "Divergent," entitled "Insurgent" and to promote the home entertainment release of "Divergent," which will be available on DVD/ Blu-ray on Aug. 5. At panel, Woodley said that she preferred to be seen onscreen with her pixie haircut rather than wear a wig for the sequel.

"I talked to the director [Robert Shwentke] because I didn't want to wear a wig. I think wigs look wiggy, especially in an action movie. We're running so much and doing so much, I think, technically, a wig would have looked quite [expletive]. I think it's cool to have a young heroine with short hair," said the actress.

"When I'm looking at Shai on screen, now you get a character progression in a visual way," James said of Woodley's hairstyle. "There's a maturity and a difference between the character here and in the first movie."

Currently both actors are filming "Insurgent" along with other cast members Kate Winslet, Zoey Kravitz, and Ansel Elgort. The movie is set to be released on March 20, 2015.
