Shark Attack in Florida: Shark Tooth Found in 11-Year-Old Girl's Leg

A shark attack at the weekend has hospitalized a young Florida girl as she was playing in the water at WinterHaven Park in Ponce Inlet Sunday, and has shocked doctors who later found a shark tooth embeded in her leg from the attack.

Riley Breihan, 11, managed to survive the shark attack, and is now recovering in the hospital surrounded by her relieved family.

The young girl was reportedly riding on her boogie board on Sunday when she says she felt something suddenly clamp over her leg, according to WKMG-TV, Orlando.

Breihan has said, "At first I wasn't thinking about pain, I was thinking I got bit by a shark and I have to go to the emergency room. Then I felt the sting and it hurt real bad."

The girl was rushed to the emergency room by a couple of strangers, where doctors confirmed that she had been bitten by a shark on her lower leg and heel.

The medics also later revealed that they recovered a baby shark tooth in her skin that the shark must have lost during its attack.

"They had to numb me and they had to prick it out," Breihan told WKMG.

Breihan has said that she will be keeping the shark tooth as a memento of surviving a shark attack, however, she has also admitted that she will not be going back in the sea again any time soon.

"I don't think I would go back in the water," Breihan said. "I'm going to wait."

This is not the first shark attack in recent weeks to hit the news, and here is a video report of a recent shark attack in Maui from earlier this month:
