The video is less than 30 seconds long but offers a quick glimpse of the detective (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) appearing to some of his friends.

In the Season 2 finale, Sherlock was presumed dead, which has left fans anxious to find out what happens next in Season 3.

"It's great. The second series was weird. Because it was such a phenomenal success, we were a bit distanced from the routine and the inhabiting of those characters," Cumberbatch said, according to Hypable.

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective created by Scottish author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The original Sherlock Holmes stories consist of 56 short stories.

The third season of "Sherlock," is scheduled to air in America on PBS in early 2014, according to The Los Angeles Times.

A specific release date in Europe is expected to be announced once episode 3 finishes filming.
