Actress and Fox News commentator Stacey Dash's reality is just as dramatic as the roles she's taken on, overcoming drug use and molestation before making it big in New York City. Yet in the midst of all of that, she was able to hear God's voice to save her child.

The 49-year-old "Clueless" actress recently sat down with People magazine to recall almost undergoing an abortion before hearing the voice of God.

"When I got pregnant, I was doing a lot of drugs and I didn't want to live. I wanted to die," she recalled. "I was going to have an abortion. I was crying and I said to God, 'Please tell me what to do.'"

That short prayer changed her life.

"And God told me, 'Keep your son,'" Dash said. "I ripped the IV out of my arm and I said, 'I'm keeping my son.'"

The Christian actress has leaned on her faith in encouraging cooking show host Paula Deen after the restaurateur's former employees alleged that she made racial jokes in 2013. In a testimony from a Deen's deposition on May 17, the former Food Network host admitted to using the N-word in the past.

Dash took to Twitter to post a godly message in defense of Deen.

"God does everything for a reason @Paula_Deen," Dash tweeted. "Only God can judge your heart BTW my daughter loves your show (only way she can get me to cook)."

Dash has been under fire for supporting public figures in the past and was vocal about receiving death threats after announcing her endorsement for Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race.

"I voted for Romney because our economy is in a tailspin. I drive by block after block of homes that have been foreclosed upon," the actress previously wrote on her "Stay Dashing" blog. "I see growing numbers of people living in their cars. I know what the unemployment record is in our country and I know what the cost of gasoline is as well."

Despite her decision to vote for Romney, Dash still extended her blessings to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

"I guess the first thing I want to say is congratulations to us all for participating in this countries 45th democratic election. God Bless President Obama and Vice President Biden and all members of the government elected or reelected," Dash wrote on the blog with a header that reads Prov 27:17. "We are truly blessed to have the privilege to have our votes counted and be represented in our government."
