Steve Harvey, the host and comedian, welcomed televangelist Joel Osteen to his hit daytime self-titled talk show recently to question if God has a sense of humor.

Osteen, the 50-year-old Pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, said he believed God does indeed have a humorous sentiment.

"I do. I think he has a sense of humor," Osteen tells Harvey in a conversation that will air on the "Steve Harvey" show. "You know, just from a scriptures point of view it says God sits in the heavens and laughs."

Osteen backed up his point by describing a baby's personality.

"Isn't it funny how babies laugh a lot?" Osteen questioned. "I read a toddler, a young child laughs 300 times a day. The average adult laughs like four times a day. God put it in them."

The pastor explained why some people begin to lose their joy in laughter.

"He put the laugh in us but I think sometimes we let life get us down you know, have bad breaks and we lose our breaks," he said.

Harvey agreed with Osteen's viewpoint, but had another opinion on the matter.

"I think he does too because that crack in the sidewalk, it's gotta be from him," Harvey told Osteen with a laugh. "Because when you're walking and you trip over it and ain't nobody looking…I mean that's gotta be him going 'gotcha.'"

The comedian went on to take things a step further in his explanation about his thoughts on God's humor.

"Now this is going to be a little bit heavy pastor but I think when you're walking down the street and you see somebody fall... I always thought that if God turned my head to see that, I think he provided that moment for me," Harvey said. "I've always thought that. Joel you didn't say nothing so I guess that ain't the one."

Osteen simply smiled with Harvey before responding, "I think I'm going to say I'll pray for you later."

Osteen will appear on the "Steve Harvey" show on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Local listings and channels for the show can be found by clicking here.
