'Suits' Cast Expands Star Power: Michael Phelps to Play Himself
The midseason premiere of popular USA Network show "Suits" is set to air in 2014, and the cast will have a real athlete among them for at least one new episode. It has been reported that the most winningest Olympic athlete of all time, swimmer Michael Phelps, will be guest-starring on the show.
Phelps will play himself in the show, according to Access Hollywood. The story arc for Phelps's role will include Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht, who will be attempting to be hired as Phelps's agent. It is unclear if Phelps will have a recurring role or not.
In June, actor Gabriel Macht spoke about wanting a top-tier athlete on the show.

"I would love to see one of these athletes come on and be on our show or just like, I get out of a car and Michael Jordan's getting into a car and he's like, 'Hey Harvey, what's up?' I would love to see that happen."
And while Michael Jordan won't be joining the show, it's harder to get a more top-tier athlete than Michael Phelps.
His role on the USA network's "Suits" will not be the swimmer's first acting role. He has played himself on several television shows. Earlier this year Michael Phelps played himself on "Newsroom," and in 2008 he played himself on an episode of the popular comedy "Entourage." In 2008 he also hosted NBC's "Saturday Night Live," where he played himself as well as other characters in various comedy sketches.
The current season of "Suits" airs on USA at 10 p.m. Tuesdays.
