Even though so much of the build up to the Super Bowl is filled with half-time show talk and Super Bowl commercials with a host of stars set to feature, including Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson, but when it comes down to it, this is simply a football game between the two tops teams in the NFL this season.

The 49ers have been one of the favorites to be here all season long, and they have lived up to their billing well. They won the NFC West division with a record of 11-4-1 and have since laid out their credentials to win the Super Bowl this season by beating the Green Bay Packers 45-31, and the Atlanta Falcons 28-24.

The Ravens meanwhile finished the regular season 10-6, claiming the AFC North division title. They have had a longer route to the Super Bowl game in the post season, but have come through every test thrown up at them; defeating the Indianapolis Colts 24-9, the Denver Broncos 38-35, and most recently successfully took down the highly favored New England Patriots 28-13.

The Ravens will be looking to Joe Flacco to help them overcome the 49ers today. He has had a fantastic season, going 317 from 531 for 3,817 yards and 22 touchdowns.
