'Super Mario Odyssey' News: Everything to Know Including Gameplay, Release Date, and Price

Nintendo faced quite the hardship last year before they made a spectacular come back during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). It was in this event that "Super Mario Odyssey" was announced, and considering that it is one of the most highly anticipated titles in the gaming community, Nintendo is facing a lot of expectations. Here is everything to know about "Super Mario Odyssey."

"Super Mario Odyssey" is a project that merges modern day features of the Nintendo Switch and the nostalgia of the well-loved Mario. It is the first "Super Mario" game to land on the console, and it will feature the evil Bowser, who kidnaps Princess Peach to marry her.

Mario's mission is to rescue her through a journey from one world to another that will make with The Odyssey, which is a flying ship. Mario also gained a new friend named Cappy, and together they make up new abilities that the world's favorite plumber did not previously offer.

The gameplay will also have several changes. For one, Mario will no longer go on the adventure with limited lives. Instead, for every time that he dies, the players will lose 10 coins. Furthermore, the game features a combination of 3D and 2D platforms that are expected to make the experience similar to the old "Super Mario" titles. Cappy will also offer unexpected abilities such as giving Mario the power to control his enemies.

So far, "Super Mario Odyssey" has received a rare review from the Edge Magazine, who gave the highly anticipated game title a perfect score. Although it is not expected to be released until well after the game has landed on the Nintendo Switch, the perfect review score seems to have raised the hype for it. For now, fans will not have long to wait before the release.

"Super Mario Odyssey" is slotted to be released on Oct. 27 for Nintendo Switch with the price tag of $59.99.
