Super Smash Bros 4 Characters: Samus Gets Charge Shot Upgrade 'Drastically Improved'

Super Smash Bros 4 is becoming one of the most highly anticipated games of the coming year, and now game director Masahiro Sakurai revealed a change to one of the franchise's most beloved characters.

Series mainstay, and one of Nintendo's most legendary characters, Samus Iran of the Metroid series, received an upgrade on her most powerful attack, the charge shot.

The charge shot is one of her most powerful attacks and is good from long distances. The only downfall of the move was it took a long time to execute, leaving the character vulnerable for attack and unlikely to constantly go for the shot.

Sakurai told Mii Gamer that the charge shot was "drastically improved," and that the whole process would be faster along with the move being more powerful.

"The Speed and Power of Samus's Charge Shot has been drastically improved. However, that could potentially put her in danger in occasion," he said.

A picture of the new and improved Samus can be seen here.

Recently a new screen shot from Super Smash Bros. 4 appears to show Mario proposing to his longtime female companion, Princess Peach.

The picture shows Mario placing a ring on the Peach's finger, but according to hints made by game director Masahiro Sakurai, it could mean something else entirely.

Sakurai posted a message on the Miiverse asking, "Who is this ring for?" Another thing to note is the placement of the ring being on the middle finger and not the ring finger, but who knows if real world marriage standards even matter in video game world.

Super Smash Bros has become a Nintendo fan favorite for the company since its first release on the N64, followed by "Super Smash Bros. Melee" on Gamecube and "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" on the Wii.

This will be the first time the series comes to a handheld system, as it will release on the Wii U and 3DS sometime in 2014.

For now, the game can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
