Super Smash Bros 4 Pic Reveals New Stage for 3DS Version

The latest Super Smash Bros 4 pic of the day reveals the stage Tortimer Island for the 3DS version.

The game's director Masahiro Sakurai unveiled the image earlier this week.

"Here's a new stage for the 3DS version: Tortimer Island! I've been here countless times to catch bugs," he said on Miiverse.

Not much else is known about the stage at this time.

New pics from both the Wii U and 3DS versions are posted by the game's director Masahiro Sakurai almost every day in Nintendo's Miiverse. Another recent pic reveals King Dedede from the Kirby universe unleashing an attack that could end up being the most powerful one in the game.

"So far, which attack can blast away enemies most dynamically … Is it King Dedede's fully charged Jet Hammer? Nah, it can't beat [Little Mac's] K.O. uppercut," said Sakurai while describing the move.

Another recent image pointed to combo finishers in the Wii U version of the game as it features Star Fox using what appears to be a finishing kick on Samus. Along with the picture, Sakurai stated that every character will get a combo finisher treatment and not just select ones like in past iterations.

"Now consecutive standard attacks will always transition into a finishing move," said Sakurai with the picture.

The new Super Smash Bros games were first announced at E3 in 2011. There is no word on an official release date, however, they are expected to launch before the end of this year. Both versions of the game will boast different trophies so players who purchase both will have some variety.

The Wii U version will be the fourth official installment in the series following in the footsteps of the original that launched for the Nintendo 64 in 1999.
