Survivor to Thank God After Not Breathing for 30 Mins in Cardiac Arrest

A woman has experienced “some sort of divine intervention” after her life was saved following a massive cardiac arrest that saw her stop breathing for almost 30 minutes.

Jean McDonald, a 64-year-old grandmother from Braintree, Essex in England reportedly came “back from the dead” after everyone had all but given up on her.

Her family had already said goodbye, and even cut off locks of her hair to remember her by. Doctors at Broomfield Hospital in Essex had also given up hope; telling family members to prepare for her death. Medics had marked McDonald as 4.5 out of 5 on the severity of brain damage she had suffered following the cardiac arrest on May 15.

However, a miracle recovery was witnessed as McDonald, against all the odds, survived and has recovered to the extent that she is able to talk, walk and shower, and is even expected to be well enough to return home as early as next weekend.

During the emergency McDonald’s heart stopped beating, and according to The Daily Mail her husband Dave said: “I watched her flat-line on the screen and I was thinking she is dying in front of me. I was completely helpless I could see my wife dying and I couldn't do anything about it.”

Friends and family of the grandmother of 16 have been relaying messages around the world from the U.K. to the U.S. and even to Korea asking for prayers that she would be able to experience a miraculous recovery.

After being resuscitated having not breathed for 25 minutes medics put McDonald on a life support machines and into an induced coma. Now over the four weeks since coming “back from the dead” she has recovered more than anyone could have realistically hoped for.

According to The Daily Mail, husband Dave said: “It is incredible. But it's scary as well because she is making so much progress so quickly that I worry what a bad day may do.

“I am not a religious person but it is some sort of divine intervention.”

McDonald now plans to go to church once she is released from hospital to offer her gratitude and thanks.
