Tagg Romney Wanted to 'Take a Swing' at Obama During Debate (AUDIO)

In an interview with a local North Carolina radio station, Tagg Romney, candidate Mitt Romney's oldest son, unleashed his true feelings about President Obama and watching the debate.

When asked what it felt like to "hear the President of the United States call your dad a liar," Tagg Romney spoke very freely and honestly about his reaction. Now the Romney campaign is attempting to do damage control after Tagg's brutal words.

"Jump out of your seat, and you want to rush down to the stage and take a swing at him (President Obama)," Tagg laughingly responded. "But you know you can't do that because, well, first because there's a lot of Secret Service between you and him but also because that's the nature of the process."

Tuesday night's debate was one of the most highly-anticipated of the season, given the interaction between Obama and Romney during the previous match-up. This time the two men appeared to speak more confrontationally, circling each other and at times engaging in very heated debate.

When asked if his dad was nervous before debates, Tagg responded with just as much candor.

"Are you kidding? He's terrified before he gets out there! Terrified is too strong a word, but you know, like anybody, he gets butterflies a little bit. And then once he's in it, two or three minutes, he's forgotten about the nervousness," Tagg noted.

BuzzFeed released the audiotape of the interview, creating quite a stir. Obama supporters see it as yet another threat against the family. The release comes at the same time as a threat that was called in to the Obama daughter's school.

"I find Romney's son's comment about wanting to physically hurt Obama deeply disappointing," tweeted Russell Simmons.

"Dear Mitt Romney, please teach your son Tagg to use his words. Punching doesn't make someone a 'man,'" added Zach Green.

Mitt Romney came under fire for his comments during Tuesday's debate, which many interpreted to mean that single parents have a likelier chance of producing violent children. Now those words, combined with son Tagg's, have seemed to hurt Romney's campaign.

"Romney's son Tagg said he wants to take a swing at Obama. Pretty violent. Based on Romney's logic, he must have been raised by a single mom," pointed out Calvin, via Twitter.

With next week's final debate only days away, it remains to be seen whether either Romney will address, or apologize, for their harsh comments.
