Ted Williams Testifies Every Day Is a 'Hallelujah Moment'
Ted Williams, also known as the Man with the Golden Voice, has kicked his crack and alcohol habits and now thanks God for his rehabilitation.
Ted Williams was seen panhandling in Ohio a year ago and became famous when a video of him speaking went viral. Receiving millions of hits, the video made him an overnight superstar. However, he still battled his drug and alcohol addiction, stalling his journey to sobriety.
A year after that video Ted is living in a home with a fireplace and a huge walk-in closet. During an Entertainment Tonight report he testifies that it's a “Hallelujah moment” every day when he wakes up.

"A year ago, I was sleeping in tents, under bridges, smoking crack, doing all the wild things," Williams said in an interview. "But now I this is where I live, I have a fireplace.”
He proudly gave a tour of his home in the video interview and spoke confidently about how different his life is now than last year. Pointing to shelves in his walk-in closet, he said that this time last year he lived out of a box.
"Now I have five boxes," he joked with the camera."What a difference a year makes, God, it's a hallelujah moment everyday I wake up."
He claims he couldn't have dreamed for everything that has happened to him. He is shown breaking down in tears while cutting his one-year anniversary cake with his fiancée and live-in sobriety coach in his condominium.
He thanked ET producers for putting their lives on hold to help him with rehab. He struggled with sobriety at first, but after two stints in rehab he finally beat crack and alcoholism addiction.
ET made him part of their family after he promised to stay sober. He has done voice-overs in commercials for Kraft Foods, and is now the voice of cable news group, NECN.
He said he is so proud, privileged, and grateful to be given the opportunity, in the ET video.
"What a difference a year makes and I just...,God, its a hallelujah moment, everyday I wake up," he repeated.
He is writing a book called, The Golden Voice: How Faith, Hard Work and Humility Brought Me from the Streets to Salvation. It will be released on May 10.
Ted Williams was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. and served in the U.S. Army for three years. After an honorable discharge, he attended school for voice acting. He briefly held a job working overnight for WVKO (AM) in Columbus Ohio, who played soul music at the time.
He says his life began spiraling out of control in 1986, when he was introduced to crack cocaine. During his years under addiction, he was arrested seven times, serving about six months total in prison.
He now lives in Dublin, Ohio where he works for New England Cable News from his home studio.
