'Teen Mom 3' Star Katie Yeager Moving on From Allegedly Abusive Relationship

"Teen Mom 3" star Katie Yeager is moving on after an allegedly abusive relationship with Joey Maes, the father of her daughter, Molli. According to reports, the young parents had an explosive relationship that led to serious injury for Yeager, who has since ended the relationship and has a new man in her life.

"This is her first time actually really dating anybody and it's really exciting!" a friend told Radar Online. "When you're with somebody for so long and you're so young and you go through so much stuff with that person, you kind of lose that feeling of 'Oh, I'm wanted by this person.' So Katie thinks it's nice to have that 'wanted' feeling back again."

According to other friends, Yeager and Maes had a violent past that, at one point, led to Yeager being treated for a broken nose. Viewers of "Teen Mom 3" were privy to an argument between the two that turned violent when Maes threw things in the house. But friends say that that was only one of several encounters in which Maes lost his temper; it was, however, one of the few instances in which the MTV cameras were rolling.

The Green River Police Department confirmed to Radar Online that someone did file an assault report against Maes in June of 2012, which was one of the cited incidents between the two. They also confirmed that Yeager was involved but that Maes was not charged after that encounter.

Yeager finally decided to move out and take daughter Molli with her. They only have contact when they exchange custody of her, and Yeager is currently in the early stages of a new relationship.

"She learned not to put up with anybody else's crap," the source told Radar. "Like, always make the best decisions for yourself and the people in your life that you love and care about and everything else will follow. She knows all the warning signs from now on."
