The Houston Texans are set to face off against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, with the Vikings looking to continue to shock the rest of the league.

Most pundits had thought this would be a building season for the Vikings but they have excelled and find themselves on the cusp of the playoffs. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream via the link provided below.

This should be one of the day's stand-out games, with the Vikings going all out to be one of the only teams to inflict defeat on the Texans this season and continue their playoff push.

The Texans meanwhile will want to secure a win so that they can confirm their first round playoff bye - potentially vital in their hopes for the Super Bowl.

To add more spice to the mix, Adrian Peterson has his eyes on the single season rushing record, but must make his push for the record against one of the league's best rush defenses.

The Texans are just one of seven teams in the NFL who have let fewer than 100 yards per game on rush, and they will be looking to crush Peterson's dreams today.

Peterson comes into this game with 1,812 yards for 11 touchdowns, and he has been one of the main reasons for the Vikings impressive position this late on in the season. He almost single-handedly has helped the Vikings make the 4th rank for most rush yards per game (160.2 yards).

The Vikings have done extraordinarily well to get to this game at 8-6. A few weeks back they had fallen from 6-4 to 6-6 after two straight defeats at the hands of the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. But they have not allowed their season to fall by the way side, and they have bounced back to reverse their result against the Bears, beating them 21-14, and last week trounced St Louis 36-22.

However, there is still more to do before they can claim their playoff spot and they face the high-flying Texans today, before seeing the season out against the Green Bay Packers at home.
