About Me:

Well first off you need to know two very important things. I am God and I am also a person. Lots of people are confused about those things, so let me explain a little more. Being God means that I'm everywhere at once, I know everything, I am all powerful, and I am the perfect combination of love and holiness. I am equal with God the Father and God the Son, which is why I'm also known as the third Person of the Trinity. I'm glad the word "person" is used when describing me, because sometimes people see me as some kind of "force" like in Star Wars, or even worse as some kind of "influence" in the world. It is true that I have power and influence, but I also have a mind-which means I have my own thought process, I have emotions-which means I have independent feelings, and a will-which means I have my own desires. Here are a few verses from the book I wrote that help illustrate what I'm talking about:

My mind:

But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God's deep secrets. (I Corinthians 2:10)

My emotions:

Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:30) And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. (Ephesians 4:30)

My will:

It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

Another thing that gets confusing sometimes is the whole question of what I do. I mean, it's pretty obvious what God the Father and God the Son are all about, but unless you read the Bible carefully, you might miss what I'm all about. So let me let you in on some of things I am doing right this very minute:

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23).

One of my biggest jobs is to help Christians be more and more like Christ, so I'm constantly at work encouraging them to live by my power and let my personality come through in everyday life. I am also a "teacher" for Christians-showing them God's will and helping them understand what the Bible means:

And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world's spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us (I Corinthians 2:12)

I also play a role with non-Christians as well:

And when he comes, he will convince the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgment (John 16:8)

My heart breaks for those who haven't yet trusted Christ, so I am hard at work whispering the name of Jesus in their souls.

Speaking of souls, did you know that I live inside yours? Since I am God and can be everywhere at once, I can (and do) live inside everyone who has trusted Christ as their only hope of salvation. The minute you did that, I "moved in" and set up permanent resident. In fact, the Bible calls you "the temple of God":

Or don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? (I Corinthians 6:19)

Because I live inside you, I have the power to lead you, guide you, protect you, and comfort you-but here's the catch-I will never force my personality on you. I made you with a free will, so you can freely reject me if you want. But I'm hoping you won't, because letting me fill you and control you guarantees the best life possible.

So...would you add me as your friend?
