'The Princess Twins' Celebrate New Parties and God's Word: A Review

"The Princess Twins" are back to having parties and spreading the word of the Lord in two all new books: "The Princess Twins and the Tea Party" and "The Princess Twins and the Birthday Party." The books are books are part of the series written by Mona Hodgson and published by Zonderkidz.

"The Princess Twins and the Tea Party" features Princesses Emma and Abby planning a tea party for friends. While Emma runs around trying to make the entire day perfect, her sister Abby reminds her that only God is perfect. It's almost reminiscent of the Biblical tale of Mary and Martha, who host Jesus in their home.

While Mary sits at the feet of Jesus, taking in his message and enjoying her time with Jesus, Martha hurries around trying to ensure everything is perfect. She misses out on the opportunity to learn directly from Jesus.

"Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her," Jesus explained in the gospel of Luke.

"He [God] gives grace to those who are not proud," from Proverbs 3:34 is the basis of "The Princess Twins and the Tea Party." It's a good lesson for anyone trying to achieve perfection and is relative to the other new book, "The Princess Twins and the Birthday Party."

Ephesians 4:32, which reads, "Be kind and compassionate to one another," is actually the Biblical text for the "Birthday Party." In this book, the twin princesses are preparing to celebrate their birthday and, of course, want everything to be perfect. When one of the girl's friends is ashamed of her dress, it's up to Emma to fix the situation.

The books are the latest in the "Princess Twins" series, written by Mona Hodgson, illustrated by Red Hansen, and published by the Zonderkidz branch of Christian publisher Zondervan.
