Tia Mowry-Hardrict Talks Being Stereotyped

Tia Mowry-Hardrict, the 35-year-old Christian actress, recently spoke about being stereotyped because of her participation on the former Style Network reality television series, "Tia & Tamera."

However, the actress and twin sister to fellow actress Tamera Mowry-Housley, insists that she does not pay too much attention to any scrutiny she may receive from their reality television series.

"I don't necessarily focus on misconceptions that the public has of me. I live my life for myself and my family," Mowry-Hardrict told Rolling Out magazine recently. "I don't allow other people's opinions and perceptions of me to validate who I am."

"..But when you do a reality show, such as 'Tia & Tamera,' I think though it is a reality show, it's still television. It's still a show," she revealed to Rolling Out. "I am allowing cameras to come in and see my life, but it's just a window of my life. It's not my life."

She explained her thoughts on people judging her based off of her stint on reality television.

"So when people make judgments based off of what they see on television, I think that's unhealthy," Mowry-Hardrict told Rolling Out.

Although it is unclear if "Tia & Tamera" will be picked up for another season after the dismantling of its home network, the actress is currently working as the star of "Instant Mom." While the first season for the Nick at Nite show "Instant Mom" is not yet finished airing, Nickelodeon recently revealed that the show would be back on the network.

"Life is so beautiful," Mowry-Hardrict tweeted after retweeting the announcement from The Hollywood Reporter. "...yay!"
