True Blood Season 7 Spoilers News: Cast Rumors Suggest Alexander Skarsgard's Eric Will Be Back for Episode 1

The most recent season of HBO's hit drama "True Blood" wrapped up this past week, and fans are wondering about the fate of the vampire and human citizens of Bon Temps. To find out what season seven holds for Eric, Sookie and the rest, read on, but be wary of spoilers.

Season six ended with Eric, played by Alexander Skarsgard, seemingly succumbing to death. But, in a recent interview with TV Line, "True Blood" executive producer Brian Buckner confirmed this will not be the last of Eric.

"I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of True Blood. He will be a series regular," the executive producer said.

"I'm not going to take Alex Skarsgard out of people's living rooms," he added.

Though Brian Buckner did say that Eric is not just going to appear perfectly fine, alive and healthy, at the start of season seven. How will Eric come back from near-death? Buckner hinted at a possibility.

"Pam has gone off in search of Eric, and maybe she's going to be the one to find him, y'know?" he said to TV Line.

More generally, Buckner spoke about what season seven has in store, and how it compares to previous seasons.

"The show started out as, 'Let's see if vampires and humans can get along.' We're returning to that original promise of the show. And because humans and vampires are being forced together, we're going to be examining that with all of our characters. Everyone's going to come under the umbrella of that main story."

The seventh season of "True Blood" is expected to air in 2014.
