UFC 153 Anderson Silva vs Stephen Bonnar: 'Silva Will Go Through Hell With Me'

Stephan Bonnar has promised to make it a difficult fight for the world's number one pound-for-pound fighter, Anderson "the Spider" Silva, as the two competitors prepare to meet for the main event of UFC 153 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this Saturday.

Stephen Bonnar enters the fight as one of the biggest underdogs in MMA history. However, he has said that people will see something new this weekend and that he would make Silva go through "hell" in the contest.

"I am going to be going through hell and he's coming with me," he said, according to MMA Fighting.

Bonnar, a light heavyweight, has said he is going to give "everything, fight my heart out, like I did in the fight with Forrest Griffin [in 2005] which changed the sport."

"That's what I bring to the cage that Anderson maybe hasn't seen too many times in his career. I've got to give him a fight, I'm going to get him on the back foot, rough him up, and that's what I'm going to do," Bonnar promised, according to ESPN.

Despite the promises, Stephan Bonnar has admitted in other statements he is somewhat scared to enter the cage opposite Anderson Silva, but he is trying to use that fear to his advantage.

"I'll tell you what, fear is the best motivator."

Bonnar is a roughly 7 to 1 underdog against Silva, with a record in mixed martial arts standing at 15-1 with a three-fight streak.

Meanwhile, Anderson Silva stands at 32-4 and has won 15 straight UFC fights, including 10 consecutive title defenses.
