Valet Ticket Calls Woman Fat: Given Free Parking for a Year (PHOTO)

A valet ticket has called a woman fat in Mizner Park in Boca Raton. The valet ticket was left on a South Florida woman's car seat, which she found when she collected her car from a valet - leaving her stunned and offended.

The green valet ticket had the words "Play," "Red Dress," and "Fat" written in black pen on it, leaving the woman angry and upset at how the valet workers had labeled her.

Sharon Peoples, an actress performing in a play at Mizner Park earlier this month, has said that she was "mortified" when she saw the note, according to NBC Miami.

Valet workers often write notes down to be able to identify owners of cars left with them. However, on this occasion a lack of manners and tact seems to have gotten the valet workers in question in deep trouble.

It was quickly apparent to Peoples that the valet workers were labeling her as the woman in the "play" wearing a "red dress." However, the third descriptive label, calling her the "fat" woman, has offended the actress for obvious reasons. It is unclear whether the workers realized the woman would obviously see the label they had made for her.

After finding the valet ticket on her car seat, Peoples contacted LAZ Parking, the company running the valet, and said that they simply tried to brush off the incident, saying that their employees are mostly young, aged between 18 to 20 years old. Peoples expressed surprise that their young age was being made as an excuse for their rudeness and obviously inappropriate behavior.

Peoples has said, "It's only words and it's from some kid, and that's one of the things the guy said to me on the phone. He said, 'You know, we employ 18- and 20-year-old kids.' I said, 'Sir, they're legally adults.'"

After further pushing, the company eventually sent a formal apology to the actress, and that it would make a point of highlighting to its employees the inappropriateness of commenting on the physical appearance of customers.

As a form of compensation the company also offered Peoples free valet parking for the next year.

Luis Macedo, the general manager of LAZ Parking of Florida, has said: "We deeply regret this incident and the company has apologized to the customer and the employee has been disciplined."

He added, "LAZ Parking continues to be committed to providing the best customer experience possible."
