The Nationals pitcher managed to strike out 12 batters across 7 innings on Wednesday night, to ensure this series goes all the way to a decisive Game 5. Strasburg's performance came despite him being sick, and was likely to be as dominant a performance as we're likely to see through this postseason.

Strasburg gave up only three hits through his time on the mound on Wednesday night, and across 14 pitched innings in this NLDS he is still to give up an earned run. Over that period he has also struck out an impressive 22 batters.

Pitching from the mound tonight will be Gio Gonzalez, who is still looking for his first postseason victory of his career, going up against Kyle Hendricks.

The pitcher had been taking antibiotics and intravenous fluids for a number of days to try and shake off a virus. Then on Tuesday the Nationals announced he would not be pitching due to his condition. They gave no details but simply said he was "under the weather".

However, despite those announcements, Strasburg of course did come out to pitch on Wednesday after he explained that some other, more effective antibiotics, had worked and that he felt good enough to take to the field for Game 4.

Then 106 pitches later, Strasburg jogged light-footed off the field, having struck out three batters in the seventh inning to end his night, having taken apart the Cubs' batters, torturing them for hours.

So it all comes down to a winner takes all Game 5. Will this be another pitcher-dominated game. So far this series it has all been about the pitching, with the Cubs managed to bat only .159, and the Nationals doing even worse at .130.

Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta is optimistic for Game 5 though, saying: "We like our chances. As long as Strasburg isn't on the mound, we'll be all right."

Tonight's big Game 5 of this MLB Playoffs 2017 NL Division Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Nationals has a scheduled start time of 8.08 p.m. ET, and can be watched on TV on the TBS network, or online through live stream on TBS.com.
