Westboro Baptist Church Protesting Taylor Swift: 'She's a Whore,' Says Leader

The Westboro Baptist Church cult is planning a protest at a Taylor Swift concert in August. Leader Ben Phelps called Swift a "whore" and said that she is not promoting the correct image of a Christian woman.

"This girl is a whore," Phelps told Radar Online. "Who else is gonna say that if it's not the church of the Lord Jesus? What she's famous for is hopping around from one bed to another."

"Taylor tries to pretend that she's a good Christian. But she's not. When she has a huge platform like that, a huge influence on young women like that, she's got a duty to tell about God's standards. And she has absolutely failed," Phelps added.

Swift, while known for her music, is also known for her numerous relationships. A clothing chain recently pulled a t-shirt making fun of Swift's past relationships from its stores after fans protested. However, Swift is now single and looks to remain that way, given that she is touring and focusing on her career.

"One simple tweet from her: 'Stop fornicating ladies, and obey God' would rock the house. But it would cost her millions she makes with her sin-coddling songs. Taylor Swift uses the talent God gave her to warble about fornication," a press released by the group stated.

Swift will be hosting a concert in Kansas City, where the Westboro Church is located. Members plan to show up at the concert and educate her fans, or at least spread the word of the Lord.

"She's coming into our backyard," Phelps said. "We're gonna go preach to her. It's not about the numbers. It's about getting a message out. We really are not concerned with people's support. We're concerned about putting the standard of God out there. Especially when you have a person like this who is inexplicably loved and revered. She's a whore! I mean, come on."

Swift has not responded to any of Phelps' comments or the plans by Westboro Church.
