Willie Robertson, Korie Robertson to Talk 'Duck Dynasty' Controversy in Exclusive New Year's Eve Interview

"Duck Dynasty" stars Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie Robertson have reportedly scheduled an exclusive interview to be televised during New Year's Eve. In the interview, the couple will discuss the recent controversy regarding Willie's father, Phil Robertson, as well as reflect on the past year and look forward to 2014.

The interview will be a part of Fox News' "All-American New Year," and it will be the first interview given by the couple regarding the controversy. "Appearing live from Steamboat Springs, Colo., for their first television appearance following A&E's reinstatement of Phil Robertson on 'Duck Dynasty,' Willie and Korie will discuss the situation with [Fox News Channel's] Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The couple will also reflect on 2013 and discuss the year ahead," the network said in a statement.

The A&E network suspended Willie's father, Phil Robertson, from the family's reality show "Duck Dynasty" for nine days earlier in December due to comments Robertson made regarding homosexuality in the January issue of GQ Magazine. In the interview, Robertson affirmed that he believes homosexuality is a sin as described in the bible, but his comments resulted in backlash from gay activist groups such as GLAAD demanding A&E cancel "Duck Dynasty," which has proven to be a major ratings powerhouse for the network.

After A&E announced it would be indefinitely suspending Phil from appearing on the show, the network was flooded with petitions with hundreds of thousands demanding Phil be reinstated to the program. The network eventually complied, releasing a statement last Friday that said it had consulted with several advocacy groups and the Robertson family and had decided to reinstate the Robertson patriarch to his reality show.

The Robertson family has stood behind Phil since his controversy began two weeks ago, releasing a statement in support of the father and grandfather shortly after A&E announced his temporary suspension. In addition, once A&E lifted the suspension, Willie Robertson announced via Twitter: "Back to work!! So proud of all the fans of the show and family. Ole Phil may be a little crude but his heart is good. He's the Real Deal!"

"Duck Dynasty" follows the Robertson family and their duck call business in West Monroe, La. The show will premiere for another season on Jan. 15, and begin filming again in spring 2014.

The Fox News "All-American New Year' special airing Tuesday evening will be hosted by Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Eastern time.
