Xbox One Launch Titles: New Halo Game Still Untitled 'Halo Xbox One'

The Xbox One recently announced the game titles that would be available for the console at the time of its launch and among the big names is a new Halo game.

Other titles are Forza Motorsport 5, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, all heavy hitters and a good start for the console.

The flagship game is one of the reasons for Microsoft's console success and is, for now, titled, "Halo Xbox One," according to Forbes.

"The final naming convention of the next chapter of the 'Halo' franchise that we revealed at E3 is still being considered. There's no great mystery, it's simply something still under discussion as we look towards the new generation of Xbox One, its overall branding, and its audience," a Microsoft representative told Forbes.

Microsoft unveiled the trailer several months ago when they were showing off the Xbox One at E3. The trailer makes it unclear what storyline of the franchise the game will follow: Halo 1-4 with Master Chief, or the side stories such as Halo Reach and Halo ODST.

Forbes reports that a direct follow-up to Halo 4 would be strange for the franchise because the previous game is only a year old, and Halo usually puts out their main story arc every three years since 2001.

The Xbox and Xbox 360 both launched with a Halo game on day one.

Microsoft is shortening Xbox One's launch day from 21 countries to 13 in order to properly optimize the experiences and the focus where establishing a strong start is vital.

The Xbox One is expected to be launched by mid November, although no official release date has been confirmed by Microsoft.
