UPDATE 11.28 p.m. ET - Yale University has now confirmed the reports that a person with a gun has been seen on or near Yale Old Campus. Media reports are confirming that a SWAT team has been dipatched to the location.

Yale University has been put on alert after reports emerged of a person with a gun on campus.
Students were urged to stay indoors and shelter on Monday morning as a precaution by authorities as the claims were investigated.
It has been reported that New Haven Police received an anonymous call from a phone booth in the 300 block of Columbus Avenue, according to the school's website. The call described that there was a person with a gun walking around Yale Campus.
Police immediately moved to advise all students and staff on campus to stay at their current location, the university website explained.
However, at present there has still been no confirmed reports of the person with a gun, and no other students have sighted the potential threat.
Anyone with information has been asked to call 911 with details.

New Haven Police have received an anonymous call from a phone booth in the 300 block of Columbus Avenue (between Howard Avenue and Hallock Street) reporting a person on the Yale Campus with a gun. There have been NO confirmations or sightings of this person. Yale and New Haven Police are in the area. If you have information, please call 911 immediately. The Yale Police Department advises those on campus to remain in their current location until there is additional information.
