Yolanda Adams Hosts Super Bowl Concert After Stellar Awards

Yolanda Adams, co-host of the 19th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, plans to stick to her schedule to continuing touring this spring even though she is two months pregnant with her second child.

"I toured up until the eight and a half months," says 41-year-old singer/songwriter, referring to her first child who is now 3-years old.

Adams will also host the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, which will feature in concert Patti LaBelle, Donnie McClurkin, John P. Kee, Mary Mary, and Dorida Clark-Cole. This year's event will benefit Project WAVE,a Houston-based, non-profit HIV/AIDS awareness foundation and will take place in the Reliant Arena in Houston.

The Super Gospel Celebration will take place on Jan.30 a day before the Super Bowl XXXVII where the New England Patriots will head on the Carolina Panthers. Adam is a big football fan but she's not as hyped up as she would like to be since she hoped "that the (Tennessee) Titans would have been in it."

However, Adams has more comment on the event she co-hosted. The theme of the Stellar Awards was: "Praise God for using our voices as the vessel of his word." Adams says the event shows how influential the gospel is, even when it comes to the success of secular stars.

"It is extremely important for the general public to realize that these people came from the church, came from choirs, came from a diverse background that includes gospel music," she says.
