Zachery Tims Death: Zachery Tims Leaves 'Guiding Words' to Church Members

Zachery Tims' ministry has left a legacy of inspirational words to live by as New Destiny Christian Center (NDCC) continues to formulate its basic requirements that will assist administrators in determining the charismatic pastor's successor.

Not many have the gift to inspire an audience to worship as the late Tims, and a look back at some of his most powerful quotes illustrates why.

The young pastor made a number of memorable appearances before the camera, most notably, through his appearances on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, or TBN. Still, words he uttered during an appearance on the network on April 4, 2010 almost seem to have been directed at his bereaved church.

In an exhortation to maintain courage even through crises, Tims said, "Don't curse your crisis, it's working through you - it's not working against you."

The pastor continued his theme of not giving in to adversity by saying, "That giant is going to help you get to a better place - that obstacle is going to help you get to a better place."

It appears in recent weeks that the NDCC has been following the exhortations of its founding pastor, as it has announced its intention to move forward with its ministry, and has begun to set forth its basic requirements for a new pastor.

On Oct. 4, Minister Samuel Anderson, an executive administrator of the church, said NDCC had begun the appropriate steps to ensure an effective transition, but explained, "We have not completed the final requirements" needed to guide the church to the right candidate that would be presented before the board of bishops.

On Oct. 21, Anderson told The Christian Post that the Apopka, Fla., megachurch is seeking "a pastor that is part of a husband and wife team," as part of its basic requirements.

On Nov. 3, Anderson explained that the process is ongoing. Still, with the echoing words of Tims as a guide, NDCC will more than likely be successful in its task ahead.
