Conservative Christian activist Peter LaBarbera, founder of the group Americans For Truth About Homosexuality and longtime critic of Buttigieg, celebrated his dropping out of the race.

In a post to Twitter on Sunday evening, LaBarbera labeled the former South Bend, Indiana mayor a “colossal phony.”

“[Buttigieg] may be a hero to the media … but to so many more he was a colossal phony--with his smug, scolding homosexual ‘Christianity’ (Christ came to save people from sin, not celebrate it), to his duplicitous play as a ‘moderate,’” he tweeted.
