The race to challenge Trump: Biden strong; Harris losing support?

Former Vice President Joe Biden also leads in all three first key state races, according to polling analyses by RealClearPolitics that was accessed Wednesday morning.

In Iowa, the first state caucus, Biden leads in the RCP average with 26.3 percent, followed by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont at 21.7 percent, Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts at 8.3 percent, Senator Kamala Harris of California at 8 percent, and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 7 percent.

While Biden and Sanders had similar levels of support when RCP analyzed Iowa polling in March, Sen. Harris has seen her support decline by 4.5 percentage points compared to March.

In New Hampshire, which is the first official primary, Biden has a small lead (24.5 percent) over Sanders (22.3). Behind them are Harris with 10.8 percent, Warren with 8.5 percent, and Beto O’Rourke with 5.5 percent. These numbers are almost identical to polling done in March.

For South Carolina, RCP did not report any new polling as of last March, when Emerson Polling gave Biden a strong lead (37 percent) over his nearest competitor, Sanders (21 percent).
