4. Killings broadcast on Facebook Live

Tarrant appeared to use a GoPro helmet camera to film himself killing victims in a 17-minute video broadcast on Facebook Live. According to The Washington Post, the video was also seen on YouTube, Twitter and discussed on Reddit.

The video was still being uploaded by viewers over eight hours after the shooting occurred. Even as New Zealand officials were asking for it to be removed, the video was still being hosted by Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Those companies eventually took the video down from their platforms.

Facebook New Zealand said in a statement that it was alerted by New Zealand Police about the video after the livestream finished.
