Michelle Obama Vacation: Extended Stay in Martha's Vineyard?

Michelle Obama may be taking an extended vacation to Martha's Vineyard this summer, according to reports this week.

The First Lady and her family are no strangers to the Massachusetts vacation spot, but this year, the trip could last a little longer.

President Obama and his wife have their eye on a house in Farm Neck on Martha's Vineyard, according to The Boston Globe.

Furthermore, Mrs. Obama may stay on longer with daughters Sasha and Malia, with the President joining them on occasional weekend and for two weeks at the end of August.

The White House has not released any official plans detailing the alleged vacation, however.

In the past, the Obama family stayed at Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark, where they rented a home. However, a British architect Norman Foster has since purchased that home.

If the Obamas do visit the secluded Farm Neck, the President could enjoy the nice golf club attached.

"Located 4 miles out to sea on the Island of Martha's Vineyard, Farm Neck Golf Club rests on a peninsula (or "neck") of rolling farmland on the eastern side of the Island, overlooking the Nantucket Sound," the website reads.

The golf club is open to the public from April to December.

As for Mrs. Obama, the First Lady remains busy with her "Let's Move" campaign, combatting childhood obesity as well as her efforts to support military families.

Furthermore, the wife of the President continues to make waves as one of today's top fashion icons.

However, not all of the attention the First Lady receives is positive. Obama was criticized earlier this year for presenting an award via satellite at the Oscars.

Despite the backlash, Mrs. Obama appeared on the "Today" show explaining that people's reactions were expected.

"That's just the nature of life," said the First Lady. "I mean, we live in a time when there are bloggers and tweeters and 24-hour news and everyone has a voice in this town square, and it's a big one."
