Fashion World gives back to Planned Parenthood. Only One brand counters for life

Buttons handed out at 2017 fashion week.

It is no secret that the fashion industry is in bed with Planned Parenthood. In 2017 purple pins which read ‘Fashion stands with Planned Parenthood were given to attendees during Fashion Week.

“We are truly thrilled by the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) show of support for Planned Parenthood at New York Fashion Week,” said Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America back in 2017.

CFDA President and CEO Steven Kolb added, “Civic responsibility is an important CFDA pillar. We will raise awareness and support this fashion week and show that Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood.”

Currently over 62 fashion brands give back to Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry genuinely believes that aborting America’s children is helpful to women and the culture.

Brands like Diane Von Furstenberg, GAP, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Converse, Ann Taylor, Lauren Conrad proudly give back to Planned Parenthood.

One mom took action to counter the fashion industry for Life. Carla D’Addesi and her daughters wanted to use their purchasing power to support their family values that all life must be protected. A fashion brand that gave back to pro-life organizations did not exist. Carla and her daughters began to research how to design, create and compete for life in the fashion industry. After a year of intense work, Carla and her 3 Gen Z daughters cofounded and launched the first and only pro-life fashion line in 2019. They chose the name Culture of Life 1972 (COL1972) as they wished to promote what the brand supported verses what the brand opposes. The logo ‘1972’ honors the final year that the USA enjoyed a Culture of Life. In 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that our tiniest Americans could be denied the right to life. Since 1973, 60 million Americans have been denied the right to life. The brand on a mission desires to return to a Culture of Life and is using the mechanism of fashion to get there.

“The fashion world glamorizes a Culture of Death by partnering with Planned Parenthood. We glamorize a Culture of Life with our brand. We believe that life is always in style and that every life is amazing! Our life tribe is growing. We are beautiful and bold. Every purchase gives back to the pro-life community.” Said COL1972 CoFounder Carla D’Addesi.

In just one year the pro-life fashion brand has Abby Johnson, author of unplanned, as their Global Ambassador and they have launched 6 chic and contemporary collections. They believe men are important to the Culture of Life movement and are actively working to expand the men’s collection. They hope to add 2 collections in 2020 including swimwear.

“The Fashion World has a history of glamorizing abortion. Notice they never say ‘Fashion stands with abortion,” as that is not glamorous. They do say we stand with Planned Parenthood, which softens their messaging of partnering with the death of America’s children.” Said Carla D’Addesi.

COL1972 is the only fashion brand that is countering the fashion world for life. This is a positive message that our culture needs to hear, especially in the often dark pop culture arena of the fashion world.
