Anglican Church hymnals in Jamaica are set for a musical shake up with the addition of songs by homegrown reggae legends such as Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
Church leaders said that Marleys One Love, and Peter Toshs Psalm 27 will be the first reggae tunes to be added to the collection of Anglican Church hymnals that will bring in a hybrid between reggae and traditional worship music from the island.
The move has come despite the fact that the two musicians were against the Church.
The Rev. Ernle Gordon said the two musicians may have been anti-church, but they weren't anti-God or anti-religion. He said the songs would help modernize the hymnals, according to Canada-based publication The Record.
Marley and Tosh, who both died in the 1980s, practiced Rastafarianism, a religious movement founded by descendants of slaves in response to black oppression.

Wow, to see that other Christians are so blinded by what they are told to believe instead of actually taking a look for themselves if very saddening. First off, Bob Marley denounced his Rasta beliefs a few years before he died but did not get baptized till a few months before his death because of threats and such. Bob Marley was a Christian and a great man. And regardless, what is wrong with songs about love, if im not mistaken christians are supposed to do this, but as time passes i see more and more christians becoming mindless drones who simply hate anything differant than them. It makes me sick
The "Anglicans," unfortunately, fall into the same rut as other believers who allow the world to mold them into the world's image!! This is extremely SAD!!! Forget Marley and Tosh!!! Believers need to go to the Word of God. His Psalms and His glory, and not some man-made religious belief system which rejects the church of Christ!! So what if these guys practiced Rasafarianism!! What's next, the Anglicans allowing the Satanic bible songs!! GIVE IT UP!!!
REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND!!!
It is a sad day when any church allows the world's culture and influence to shape its direction. Why do some churches continue to reject the plain words of scripture?
2 Corinthians 6:17 -
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Not surprised...as Anglicanism slides further and further down the slippery slope.....
