As the pro-intelligent design documentary “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” launches full throttle into over 1,000 theaters this Friday, its producers are no doubt feeling a strong sense of anticipation and anxiety.
The film, which explores the existence of what it claims is an elitist scientific establishment dedicated to Darwinism and the silencing of all its critics, has generated fierce reactions and attacks from the moment of its conception, according to producers.
In a series of incidents last month, producers grappled with what they described as both an intentional bootleg distribution campaign designed to wash away the film’s value, and the “crashing” of a pre-screening by two vocal atheist scientists.
And after the most recent wave of attacks – an accusation of copyright infringement and a series of elaborate attacks on the internet – producers have cried of an intentional campaign to discredit and destroy the film.
Despite the attacks, however, Executive Producer Walt Ruloff said that he would not be deterred by what he described as groups of zealot-like scientists unwilling to allow for civil debates on Darwinism.
“We certainly will not allow a small group of self-appointed gatekeepers to infringe our rights of free speech and our obligation to expose them for what they are - namely, intellectual thugs unwilling to accept any dissent from Darwinian orthodoxy,” he said, according to a statement.
Logan Craft, chairman and executive producer of the film, also gave an upbeat commentary, adding that the production team would not be silenced.
"Opponents of our film are attempting to interfere with its important message,” he said.
“As the movie documents, similar tactics are being used across the country against many of the researchers, scientists, and professors who want to engage in free debate within science but have inadequate resources to challenge the Establishment. However, we do have the platform to confront the 'thought police,' and we will work tirelessly to open the doors of free speech and inquiry," he added.
“Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed,” starring actor and former presidential speech writer Ben Stein, is an in-depth investigation of teachers, professors, and researchers who are mocked and threatened with expulsion by an elitist scientific establishment that punishes the scientific proponents of intelligent design because they reject some of the claims of Darwin’s theory of evolution.

The beauty of "Expelled," is that Ben Stein has shown us that we don't need to get into the public schools to talk to people about Creationism and Intelligent Design. I am calling on Christians to start buying Creationism and ID books and DVDs for the purpose of giving those books and DVDs to friends and neighbors, especially those who have Jr. High and High School age kids. now, I'm not sure just what you imply with "your claims of superiority betray you", but I can assure you that ad hominem attacks do not make an argument or even a valid point.
I don't think any of us "follow" Darwin....we just acknowledge that he is the first person to figure out that/how different species evolved to what they are today. If you have a better explanation that includes testable hypothesis, please do share it.
What you are making is a fallacious argument; appeal to authority (informal), as the founding fathers are *not* experts on evolution or any related field. Even Darwin believing in God makes no difference because theology is not Darwin's strength. I doubt any supporters of ID/Creationism can make anything *but* a fallacious argument, since none of them have any proof of anything they claim.

This movie was doomed from the beginning. The creators knew what they were doing, and what is funny is that this handful of 'teachers, professors, and researchers' are minimal - most colleges and hard working researchers do not waste their time on tacky debates such as intelligent design censorship in schools. Instead, they engage further into their work to explore answers and tackle evidence. Why has this ID 'outcry' not been made public all the way up to the msnbc and cnn headlines? BECAUSE IT IS NOT AS BIG OF A DEAL AS THIS MOVIE MAKES IT TO BE - if ben stein is the biggest celeb you can get - you sure do not have a great production promotion

Just know that GeorgeX, also known as citasong I think, and probably other names, really cannot be argued with. He is one of those the scriptures talk about being blinded by this world. He thinks he is free, but indeed is held captive. No matter how clearly the evidence is presented, he rejects anything about God at this point. He has stated he is an agnostic and uses this web site to keep an eye on what the religious people are up to, and not in a good way. He is an angry person and I am sorry about that. Somewhere in his past I'm sure something happened to cause this reaction. I don't know what it was, but I do pray for him that he would find healing. I would suggest that everytime he posts something attacking a Christian position, just post a sincere prayer for him.

Out of touch huh? Well, I know of the case of Nylon-eating bacteria, however I don't see how it supports IC (Ireducible Complexity) or ID for that matter. Why did this type of bacteria 1st not have the ability to digest bacteria, a new sythethic material only created in the 1930's, and then all of sudden those exposed to it were able to? They certainly weren't initially 'designed' to digest the nylon, so whence does the intellgent designer come in? and better yet, how do we test such a hypothesis?

Actually no. It has nothing to do with 'heat absortion' at all, rather it's the result of how our bodies use vitamins, namely vitamin D and to it requires some exposure to sulight to aid in digestion. Lighter skin is the result of the body changing to allow for greater UV rays to aid in digestion of vitamins. Also, on a color scale, black absorbes the most energy per square inch, so if pure 'heat obsorbtion' were the reasoning like you state, darker people would be found in the north.

I went with about 30 people to see this movie opening night. Every comment I got was, "Great" or "Loved it". I can understand the criticism of the movie. People do not like to be made to look foolish and shown naked, especially when they have been calling the ones that support I.D. fools for so long. Their lie has been exposed and they are trying to cover themselves.
Yes, Provine and Dawkins, and the other "intelligent" scientist really made themselves look foolish. The did not need help from Ben Stein. Ben merely asked Dawkins some straight forward questions and Dawkins backed himself into a corner. Some people here think scientists should ignore the flat-earthers who spread lies about science. They think science teachers should ignore religious attacks against science education. I don't get that logic. The scientists and science teachers didn't start the Christian war against science education. The Christians started this war. The scientists and science teachers were just minding their own business, trying to do their jobs.
Christians can believe anything they want. They can say anything they want. They can make any movie they want. But when they lie about science and/or attack science education, they should not be surprised if scientists and science teachers fight back.
It would be in everyone's best interest if religious ideas and scientific ideas were kept separate. The scientific explanation for the diversity of life, biological evolution, should be taught in biology classrooms. Religious explanations for the diversity life, intelligent design creationism and Bible creationism, should be taught in Sunday school.
I noticed there are no science teachers demanding equal time in Sunday school. The religious teachers should not expect to be able to force their non-scientific ideas into science education.

You're right, there is no debate on the standing of Evolution as a theory - it's fairly obvious that Evolution is garbage - it doesn't even have enough backup via scientific evidence to truly be called a working theory, in the strict sense - all it has is popular backing from an ignorant public and media, and flawed logic. At best, ID and Evolution are on an equal, faith-based, footing in any debate.
The really funny thing (not!!) is that as America slumps into scientific ignorance India, China etc..will take the world stage as major players. America will go into decline but hey, you know evolution isn't true, its just the rest of the world is not listerning.
